Has anyone tried dipyridamole for their rls and at what dose. Was it successful?

Dipyridamole
If you put 'dipyridamole' into the search bar and scroll down you'll find some old posts of mine about my experience taking this drug. Or you could search on my name. I think there were one or two others who tried it too. From memory results have been mixed and I seem to recall one poster (may have been on another forum) who found that the drug worsened symptoms. I won't repeat my experience because it's better to read the original posts as they were contemporaneous and my memory is bad but in summary it was worth trying - provided a blood thinner is not counter-indicated for you and you can find a GP to prescribe it.
I take it currently with excellent results. But as involuntarydancer says, you need to do a search because we have discussed this medicine several times in here. Good luck!!
So glad it works for you. How much do you take and are there any side effects. Do you take anything else with it. I'm so fed up of this. I'm fine now and it's bedtime which I dread. Every night I think it's going to be fine but then it starts
I tried gabapentin when I first was diagnosed with RLS, but I couldn't take it because of the side effects. You know how you have to slowly increase the amount of gabapentin you take until you reach the level that works best for you? Well, I couldn't even get past the first level because it had me dizzy and lightheaded and bumping into walls and extreme daytime sleepiness. So then my doctor suggested Horizant, but when I read that it was just another form of gabapentin, I didn't want to try it, but my doctor talked me into it saying it is a different form of gabapentin and that it shouldn't have the same side effects that the true gabapentin has. So I tried it, and I'm so glad I did because it does help. Unfortunately, it doesn't help enough on its own because my RLS is so severe. So I take a combination of 3 different meds: Horizant, buprenorphine, and dipyridamole. These 3 together give me between 85% and 90% relief. 🙋♀️
Wow I'm sorry your rls is so severe. Mine seems to be too. I'm taking pregabalin 400 mg now and seem to be ok with it. Unfortunately I don't get full relief so I thought to add dipyridamole to try. I don't think my doctor will give me buprenorphine. She doesn't seem to know much so I have to tell her. How many mgs of dipyridamole do you take? Thanks so much for replying
I notice that people with severe rls often seem to get better coverage from a combination of different meds each at a lower dose; than would be required to cover symptoms on their own. The physiology of the condition is so complex I wonder if different meds act on different points of attack and the combination of all brings a positive result.
Lara I am so happy you found a combination that gives you some relief, my question is how much Buprenorphine are you on ?
I know 2 other people who are in the situation you where in.
Did you have insomnia when on Buprenorphine alone ?
Big smiles from to you thank god 🌼
I take 2 mg sublingual buprenorphine 3 times a day each 5 hours apart at 12:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. Thank you for the sweet words! Yes, I thank God every day that I am getting this degree of control with this combination of meds my neurologist has me on...😇 P. S. As far as insomnia from the buprenorphine, I honestly haven't noticed any.
