Hi, Does albuterol sulfate impact RLS? I was prescribed it for COVID but I am always nervous.

It relaxes smooth muscle, i.e. the kind of muscle found in the walls of the tubes in the lungs. This allows thetubestonwidento let more air in and out).

Hence it's known as a bronchodilator.

I can't see then how it could affect RLS. If it does,it may actually be a positive effect.

I too have been using more of my Albuterol inhaler post Covid. Within minutes I have RLS. I’m skeptical. Just can’t believe it somehow - that a substance could provoke RLS in minutes. Yet I did see there is a phase four clinical trial underway to discern the relationship between the two so I guess I’m not the only one. Plus, I read it elevates serotonin and is considered an anti-depressant of sorts. Well I gotta go take more iron lest sleep eludes me tonight.
