antibiotics and rls
Antibiotics may make RLS. worse. It depends on the individual one.
What you can take for a bacterial infection depends on what the infection is.
The treatment for most common viral infections is symptomatic, antibiotics won't work.
I would avoid fluoroquinolone antibiotics - commonly prescribed for urinary and prostate infections (nasty tendon ruptures, etc). The latest black box warnings from the US Food and Drug Administration - consider the use only for a life and death situation. Here is some info on more natural treatments for UTIs...
I had four courses of different antibiotics one after the other(all for different things). Knowing that they destroy intestinal bacteria I ate plenty of live yoghourt but it made me feel sick and my RLS deteriorated so I bought some probiotic pills. I still felt lousy and my RLS was really bad. I looked up probiotics and RLS and learned that there is a condition, SIBO, which is an overgrowth of intestinal bacteria and causes RLS so I’ve learned something about the cause of my RLS. Since stopping the yoghourt and probiotics I’m a lot better. Now, how do I reduce my intestinal bacteria?
