Will take a look, thank you Madlegs.
Very interesting. Something else I find interesting is that at my cannabis clinic, my doctor is leaving and being replaced by two psychologists. What's that about!?
To me it means they intended to strengthen cognitive behaviour thearapy use and lesson the use of cannabis. That’s what the new staffing suggests but hey wait and see.
It's incredibly frustrating when a medical person is replaced with a psychologist.
One of the key differences between psychologists and other Drs including psychiatrists is that they cannot by law prescribe any medication. Therefore, it is not an option for them. They would have to refer you. To me that clearly indicates the direction they are going. What happened to transparency and patient consultation No body knows how our body and mind feels better than us or what effect different medications have. Some GPs talk down to you like you are a particular slow and stupid child whilst others I have had have been superb.
I'm going to restrain from ranting Pagan or I won't stop! Having had psychologists offered up as a way for me to stop pretending I am ill, and to get to the bottom of why I am lazy and don't want to interact with life, despite having an illness recognised by the WHO as a multisystem neurological disorder, and masses of biomedical research to prove that (I have ME), I am very weary of having psychologists involved in anything to do with my health.
Oh no! I'm ranting!!
They have their place, absolutely, but it needs to be relevant.
Unintended rant over
🙂
Thanks Madlegs. Makes sense- any drug has to be reduced very slowly to minimise withdrawal symptoms.
Unusually, the young come off worse. It is about time some counter-balancing information/evidence is presented to the current view of cannabis asthe ultimate panacea that can do no wrong.
Have started trial, 5 days in, no THC in the one I purchased.
I am somebody who has used cannabis products for a long time - for sleep only.
I can attest to the validity of this study. I remember the first time I stopped using cannabis because I had noticed an increase in my tolerance levels. I had a hard time getting to sleep for about a month after that even when I increased my normal levadopa dosage.
I am using cannabis again because it is the best of many bad alternatives. But it is very important to be aware of the almost inevitable increase of tolerance over time.
The use of cannabis is preferable to many other drugs that are prescribed for restless legs. But one has to be careful about any substance which influences brain activity.
Totally agree.
I took some last night, 30/70% TBC/CBD. I woke with stomach pain and I thought I was going to be sick. Each time I take it this happens. It may be because I am taking it with Oxycodone, and it will be different if I try it with a different medication. It's frustrating as it does help me get to sleep.
I think there will always be a plus and a negative with any form of treatment. It's understanding the risks and weighing them up. Wouldn't it be much easier if we didn't need to take anything!
Wouldn't it be great if we could stop rattling around because of all the pills!
The THC component of cannabis has an addictive component but hugely less than opioids ie 6% compared to nearly 100%. I myself use it but keep to the lowest possible dose and I like to take a break from it regularly. So far after years of using the oil - I don't feel any sense that I am needing more and when I am off it my symptoms have not increased from before I took cannabis. Generally all medicines that stop pain would have an addictive component and they need to be strong. However it is one of the best I have had so far.
