Hiya. Has anyone successfully used cannabis oil/tincture for RLS?
Cannabis tincture: Hiya. Has anyone... - Restless Legs Syn...
Cannabis tincture
I've used the CBD only oil with no benefit and I've used one with the whole cannabinoids which worked very well.
Cheers raffs. So I'm assuming that gives a high?
I am giving careful thought to using the medipen. It costs £50 but has good reviews
I would definitely stick to an indica if you want to try it. Sativas make the crawling worse for me.
I found a good hard hitting indica like Sensi Star very good, er, or so I've been told
I'm new to this so don't know what sensi star is or where it can be obtained.x
Cheers howlinwoolf. I don't know what an indica is. can you xplain the difference please?
Indica is more of a body effect lays you out a bit whereas Sativa is an up beat high and for some can produce more anxiety. Mind you early harvested cannabis of both types can do that.
Cannabis seeds can be easily obtained on line and in some places it is legal to grow, (mind you lots grow where its illegal to grow too). I wont link to a seed shop in case it winds anyone up, (some people have to work hard at getting annoyed!!), but if you type buy sensi star seeds in google you will have a plethora of avenues to choose from.
If you have to go down the road of a dealer try and get someone reliable that knows a bit about cannabis and not a two-bit hood trying to make a few quid. If you are in the US and can get to a dispensary they will advise a good indica there and if you are in the UK you can grow at home if your family are OK with it but be aware of the laws, (although how trying to keep yourself alive and healthy is against the law is beyond me!).
Indica is the more sedating/euphoric type of cannabis. Sativa is more uplifting/distracting. Both are used to treat pain and depression, though, in different ways.
Typically, indicas tend to be more relaxing and I have found they can really calm the RLS. It helps that I live in a cannabis legal state. If you are also lucky enough to have choices like these: an indica-dominant CBD BHO (hash oil) pen that is equally balanced with THC is a fantastic option. If your options are more limited, ask for an indica strain or hash, if you have access.
A nice Northern Berry...if you are lucky enough to be in Oregon or Washington!
I've been trying the Medipen ( cannabis oil without the high) for a few weeks but it does nothing for me. But, as we all seem to react differently to different drugs/ vitamins/ supplements/ gadgets, I wouldn't dismiss it.

You need to make sure there is a decent amount of THC in there. If the oil is balanced between those cannabinoids, that's where the magic truly happens. It's more like a non-addictive benzodizapine (like a baby Valium) mixed with a sturdy NSAID. It's not crazy heady like a THC dominant but it can be sleep-inducing.
If you can find such a thing, its medical uses are vast. I definitely use it for RLS.
Sounds perfect. Only problem here in UK is that it's illegal and even if you really need it for medical reasons, you stand risk of prosecution. Lucky you living somewhere it's legal. Really hope the UK sees sense on this in the not too distant future. Maybe we should all emigrate to Oregon. Looks beautiful on Nature Programmes.

Hi Jumpey. I did try cannabis salve. I don't know if it's almost the same as oil/ tincture, but it didn't work for me. I got the referral from someone else here on this web, that person thought it was great, it worked wonders for him but not for me. What I also tried was magnesium oil, now THAT I liked very much, it did work but only to help my meds when they decide that on occasion they want some help. I don't want to increase my dose (TRAMADOL 50mg x2 in the evening) so when I feel I need a little help I use the oil. It also helps you relax and sleep well. That referral was also from someone here on this web. The magnesium is good for aches so it relaxes, I won't use it alone because I don't want to take a chance and get an RLS attack unnesesarily, but it really helps me, I also used it on an injured sholder where the muscle had torn, VERY PAINFUL, but I tried the magnesium and I SWEAR it helped me heal much quicker and I could tolerate the pain. Now I take magnesium supplements, only before bed, just to see what it would do, and I am sleeping like a baby night after night, I haven't increased my meds and I've been on a pretty long run without problems, with our wretched desease. Have you tried the cannabis that you're inquiring about? Let me know. Good luck.
I have never tried cannabis and would only want to try a medical form that is legal. What form of mag d o you use and how much? Thanks for your helpful response.x
Hi, what I tried but DID NOT WORK for me is Pain -Relief Salve, it is Organic Hemp-Arnica-Comfrey-Essential-Oils & Coconut Oil Base. Those are the exact words on the little jar. Maybe because it has so many other things it didn't work. I'm not going to bother with anything else because I'm doing so well with the Magnesium. If you like to know about the magnesium it's, Goodnight Pure Mineral Spray Magnesium Oil. Now THIS REALLY helps and hence the name, Goodnight Magnesium Oil, it really makes you relax and fall asleep. I haven't tried it on its own without meds, but like I said before, some nights my meds need a little extra help, so instead of medication g orally I use this oil. From what I read from other posts there seems to be many others that have more info about the cannabis you're looking for. I don't like anything that messes with my head. Let me know what you do and if you try the cannabis you're looking for. By the way, I live in the US in Florida where I think it was just approved for medicinal purposes only but I don't know if it's in force yet.
