Long story short, I had a terrible experience with the neurologist I went to see earlier this year after trying to get off ropinerole due to lactation suppression and augmentation issues. Current neurologist just wants to keep increasing my dose of ropinerole, which I know is a recipe for disaster. Gabapentin and Horizant did nothing for my RLS symptoms either. I have just finished a series of 5 iron infusions, but so far I have not experienced great improvements. So, basically, I’m interested in a neurologist that is open to the idea of micro doses of extended release opiates in the Dallas area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Neurologist in Dallas who is open to opiates for RLS?
Dr William Ondo is in Houston, Texas. He is one of the 'big ones' in RLS research and treatment. He is co-author on the seminal paper on the use of opioids for RLS. If Houston is too far for you, maybe you could contact anyway and ask for a telephone consultation? Or explain your situation and ask for a clinic with a knowledgeable dr in Dallas.
Finally, you could contact rls.org. They have a series of 'quality care centers' for RLS in the USA.
I am so sorry you are still struggling. One always hopes that no news is good news. At least you received the iron infusions. They may take several weeks (6-12) to being on effects.
I hope that withstanding your RLS problems you and your baby-boy are otherwise doing fine. But is must be demanding. We understand.
Hi! I can recommend first hand Dr. William Ondo in Houston. I was at my wits end and I give him the credit he deserves for improving my life with a low dose (only 5 mg) of Methadone. Its been two years now and I have not had to increase the dosage. I know Dallas is about 20O miles from Houston but you wont be sorry. He is such a nice and personable doctor and one of our country’s premiere experts in treating RLS. Blessings!
I agree with Lotte and Lolly. Dr William Ondo is an RLS expert & regularly gives webinar talks for the US foundation. He is an advocate of low dose opioids.
