. I cant find any recent posts on this med. I've heard people getting some good sleep on this med but of course with the peculiar nature of this disorder was wondering if its one that make the legs even worse. Is anyone on Ativan?

Ativan, otherwise known as lorazepam is a benzodiazepine and as such may relax you, may aid sleep, even know you out, but as far as I am aware it does nothing for the RLS itself.

That doesn't mean it isn't useful, if it knocks you out and keeps you out until the worst of the RLS passes then its a good thing in my book.

Thanks. I’m thinking of asking my doctor for it. I didn’t remember if it was on the list of drugs that make RLS worse. Sleep is such a sought after thing just begging for a few good hours here and there

Unfortunately drugged sleep isn't that great and doesn't refresh or heal like ordinary sleep. That said a break from the pain, misery and long long early morning hours is almost as good!

Hope they help.

I don’t know long term effects but the few times I have taken it, it helped.

I take it on occasion and it helps my RLS and sleeping.

Keep in mind that it can be highly addictive and should not be taken every day.
