I’ve had rls since entering the post menopausal stage, 8 years ago. Have now been using an hrt tablet inserted into the vagina three times a week and low and behold it has got rid of most nights of no sleep. Still have it about once mildly every 10 days but nothing like it was like. Tried magnesium and iron supplements but hrt beats them both. Took hrt for vaginal atrophy and it cleared that and restless legs to boot. What a result, I’m thrilled and relieved. Sorry you men out there, don’t think it’s something you can try.

Raffs would try anything!😆
Don't think he's gone that far yet-- but you never know with these Norners 😂
We may not be able to try it but I reserve the RIGHT of all men to try it.!!! With apologies to Monty Python
Splitter.
What is your HRT Alemapris? is it Natural Progesterone? Oestrogen. Would you share what the name of the medication is. Many thanks
It’s called Estradiol they are tiny vaginal tablets inside thin blue applicator. 10 mls. When you start inserting them it’s everyday for 2 weeks then 3 per week. I don’t care how they work it’s just such a relief not to get into bed thinking I’m not going to sleep due to rls.
That is interesting to note. ....my RLS does get worse just before and during my period. I have often wondered what role hormones might be playing in this.
Wow! I will have to ck into that!!
I also use these tablets but they don’t help my restless legs. Not sure how they can to be honest. They only work in the vaginal area they don’t even work for other menopause symptoms as they don’t get into the digestive system so they certainly don’t get up to the brain. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence but long may you be restless legs free.

You don’t have to swallow tablets for the substance to get into your bloodstream, and that is how the drug gets around the body.
In this case the oestrogen will be absorbed by, and have greatest effect on, vaginal tissue but some will go into circulation.
I think it does get into bloodstream albeit a small amount. I didn’t have it before the lack of Oestrogen so it must be doing something. Obviously like a lot of things it’s not for everyone. I take magnesium too but it didn’t work on it’s own so perhaps it’s the combination of the two. Who knows.
I take magnesium, oral HRT and vagifem and it doesn’t work for me. Iron helps but certain food/drink definitely sets it off.
What food/drink sets yours off?
Ice cream is a definite no no. It’s not the milk as I have soya ice cream. In Italy I ate theirs and I was fine! Some fizzy drinks but not others. Assume that means it’s certain kinds of sugars but not all - not worked out which yet. That may also be the problem with the ice cream. Many medications set it off. All acid blockers, testosterone, nortryptyline, diphenhydramine, anti sickness /motility medication to name a few.
