I’m currently suffering symptoms of DA withdrawal and am wondering how much Kratom can an adult take while in an episode? I have taken 1.5 grams and feel the need to take more due to the pain. This particular strain isn’t red and it seems like I can tell the difference. Anything would be helpful! Thanks!

I know that I didn’t take that much, but can’t remember how much I ended up taking, maybe around 3gm. Fine detail just wasn’t happening. I’m surprised that I survived! I was beginning to wonder. My final attempt was ice packs directly on my scrub-clad legs as I couldn’t manage or care to change my clothes. This finally worked and I slept for a couple of hours.
3g is a low dose to manage rls. Like Raffs I would take closer to 6g. And I would have to take this at least twice in a night as the effect wears off. I didn’t find much difference between red, white and green strains in terms of how they worked for the legs. One strain did make me feel quite nauseous however.
Good luck with the withdrawal. I didn’t realize you were coming off pramipexole. That is pure torture. You have to keep reminding yourself that it will pass. You will be so glad when you finally get over it. I didn’t realize how much pramipexole had altered me til I gave it up.
Before iron infusion, when my RLS was Out Of Control, the only thing that helped almost 100% was smoking Marijuana. 1 or 2 hits for me thru 3 to 4 hours. I'm not a poor smoker AT All. I actually accidently got stones once & had a panic attack.. Lol. I'd rather smoke pot then try Abu of the meds people talk about. I had this 10 years & never took any meds for it. For me building up my blood levels is the cure.
Kratom got me through my horrible DA withdrawals. I needed about 3 grams to be effective. That was a couple of years ago and now I take 3 grams as needed at night. I suffered physical and emotional DA withdrawal. I took what I needed to get through it. Sometimes it was as much as 3-4 times a day. Everyone is different so you may have to experiment to find the right dose for you. I take mostly a red strain at night but when I was experiencing terrible depression caused from the DA withdrawal green stains were very helpful. Good luck!
Yes! I took 3 grams of Kratom, 0.25mg of Mirapex and smoked cannabis tonight and am not having any symptoms! It looks like I’m finally down to 0.25mg of Mirapex which is a big deal to me! I do think I took an extra 0.5 grams Kratom though. I had to use ice packs on my legs to sleep last night, but not tonight. I’m feeling less exhausted too! I’m so glad because I have to work the next few days. This syndrome has had me rather debilitated recently and I’m sick of it! My husband just politely informed me that going to Atlanta for help is out due to financial reasons...a girl can dream though, right?
My experience is similar to Raffs. And, as others have said, you will need to experiment to find the right dose for you. In case it helps, I did some measurements awhile back with one strain (and I'm assuming that the weight of powdered kratom is pretty consistent across strains). I found that one level teaspoon was about 2.5 grams, while a rounded teaspoon was about 4.7 grams.
If you're worried about taking too much: I started with 4-gram doses every other day, and over the course of 2 or 3 years progressed to 8-gram doses taken 4 times per day (i.e. every 6 hours.) Never did I feel nauseous or overdosed in any way. I credit kratom for saving my sanity and possibly my life.
Although kratom is related more closely to the coffee bean than the poppy plant, it appears that it affects the opioid receptors, so it is no surprise that tolerance would develop in those of us who have a long-term relationship with this medicine.
Thus I currently have reduced my usage to 3 times per day as I continue to search for medicines and/or palliatives which may have a beneficial effect on this RLS scourge. I only write this to assure you that the small doses you have taken are extremely unlikely to cause you any harm. Bless you in your search for help: this is a wonderful website for meeting courageous people similarly affected.
