Antidepressants

Hi,

I’m having a bit of a hard time at the moment and my GP has prescribed sertraline which I know can aggravate rls.

Are there any antidepressants I can suggest if sertraline makes my rls symptoms worse?

Thank you,

Jac

Hello. Wellbutrin and Trazadone are known safe ones.

Thanks. Will make a note incase sertraline makes mine worse. They’re pretty bad at the moment but I’m pretty stressed so that’s maybe glaring them a bit too 😩

You’re welcome! I’m sorry your legs are bad at the moment. Stress definitely doesn’t help, I know. It’s a vicious cycle that is beyond frustrating, isn’t it?

Just a note about Wellbutrin: since it has waking properties, it’s not a good idea to take it in the evening.

It could be that you’ll be fine on Sertraline, so here’s to hoping.🤞🏼

I've recently started on Lexapro, seems to be working for depression, doesn't aggravate RLS, and once I get used to it, I'm sure the nausea will subside. (Can't win em all)!

I’ve been put on colchicine as I’m being investigated for an autoinflammatory disease like lupus, periodic fever syndrome and the list goes on to even weirder things. It is giving me terrible digestive issues and I’ve even gone 100% lactose free as suggested. Let’s hope sertraline doesn’t cause any more stomach upsets, don’t think I could handle any more!

Be sure to take sertraline with food.

Hi there, my GP suggested Nortriptyline Its not in the SSRI group of antidepressants. I was on Citalapram, unfortunately for me, triggered off my RLS.
