Hello, All. In my previous post I said I'd been taking Magnesium Glycinate (spelling?) at night along with L-Theanine and "gentle iron." That really did work for a while, but then just as suddenly, it didn't. In spite of my desire not to take medications, I'm now finding that what works best for me is half a tablet of a very old muscle relaxer called Tizanadine. It was prescribed for the pain I get from Occipital Neuralgia but I find if I break a 2 mg (the lowest dose available) tablet in half and take it before bedtime ---instead of waiting until the RLS inevitably kicks in (pun intended)---I fall asleep within 30 minutes and sleep through the night. At the low dose, there are so far no side effects. At higher doses Tizanadine can cause weight gain and depression. So far, so good. I'll keep you all posted!

Some relief from RLS recently
"Do not take more than three doses (36 mg) of tizanidine in a 24-hour period. Too much of this medication can damage your liver. Cold or allergy medicine, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, other muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety can add to sleepiness caused by tizanidine." Ref; Google 'Tizanidine for RLS'.
RLSBlues, thank you. I've discontinued the tizanadine completely. Even at 1 mg. per night, after two weeks I was feeling more blue and had put on a few stubborn pounds for no clear reason. Both are side effects of tizanadine, as it turns out. I'm back to breaking a hydrocodone/acetaminophen tab in half (1/2 of 350/5) at bedtime. Works well unless I've had caffeine too late in the day.
Glad it works for you!
I like your username! Do you sing to your legs or are you more of a RLS-whisperer type? Or....are you a RLS sufferer who happens to sing as well?🤣
Ha ha. I enjoy singing, hence the name.
Hi. I use all these supplements. I love Sun L-theanine (Natural Factors) for a nice happy relaxed mood (I take 2x a day) and take Mag Bi's 200 Mg every meal after 2pm and then 450 + Zince + B12 (ZMA) before bed and Iron on an empty stomach. I just won't go down the drug road as someone who lives with nerve pain I know Dr's are eager to drug us but my moods, relationships, energy ect are all way to important for coping
