arthrocann

Having come out the other side after augmentation (from praximexole) , I tried most of the suggestions given by all you helpful people and take hemp oil, magnesium spray and Vit B12, but I have also found arthrocann to be very helpful if RLS isn't too severe. when I wake up with it, I just rub some of this on my leg, it gives a pleasant tingly warm feel, very soothing after the RLS and I can then get back to sleep. I bought it on Amazon about £17. Anyone else tried this?

Haven’t heard of it but will look it up

Just looked it up and see it has cannabis oil in it. I mix some of that and some ginger oil into cocoa butter and it helps a bit but will give athrocan a go

Hi Lenilatt,

Thanks for the tip. It sounds similar to Deep Heat cream for aches & pains so will give it a try.

Do you take any meds in place of the pramipexole? I came off Ropinirole after Augmentation and have had to switch to pregabalin and OxyContin as my RLS was still very bad. Did your RLS improve after stopping Pramipexole?

Yes, my RLS has improved but the augmentation was pretty rough. I haven't taken any drugs for about a week now (I was taking sleeping pills about twice a week and kratom (low dose) the other days but at the moment it's going ok without any. I am hoping to keep off these horrid drugs that mess with your brain, but I am expecting the symptoms to return soon as I have suffered all my life with it.

I had tried deep heat and similar creams before but they didn't make any difference. Arthrocann does though, as it enables me to get back to sleep .

Wow; well done, Lenilatt. I would love to be off drugs but before I ever went on to prescription drugs the legs woke me up over and over. Whenever I get close to eliminating drugs it starts to happen again and I'm just not strong enough to go through it night after night.

I have just started trying to kick the augmentation to pramipexole. Whew, what fun. Can you tell me how long it took? Did you scale down your use or quit the Rx all at once. And, what are you doing to control the symptoms now. I am not familiar with arthrocann. I will check it out

Anything you can offer is appreciated.

Your GP could give you some Tramadol which you could use whilst you come off one drug and build up on the next. A low dose should be very effective to get through the Augmentation period.

Am afraid I quit too quickly, but vow not to go backwards. But have got to get some relief. I really want to look into the IV Iron for control once I get out of the augmentation., but the local clinic is booked up till March.

I second that, john. And billdell, make sure you reduce the pramipexole very slowly. I know nightdancer has given examples of how slowly in several augmentation threads.

As I told John_Naylor, I didn't have any patience and cut the Pramipexole out too quickly. I'm paying for it but will find something to help. Want to stay away from heavy Rx if possible ie, trading one tiger for another. Have you tried kratom? I am not familiar with it.

Also it is worth taking iron bisglycinate while you withdraw. It may help very slightly. But I would second John_naylor - an opioid such as tramadol is really the only thing that will help appreciably during the hellish acute period. Good luck, Billdel. If you put Nick the Turk into the search bar you will find a sort of diary kept by Nick as he came off a dopamine agonist. It is harrowing reading but you can almost feel the relief as he comes through it and is no longer reliant on the d/a

I am filled with admiration at how droll you are given that you are in the throes of withdrawal.

I was on 4 a day so reduced by one pill every 3 - 4 days. Augmentation went on for about 3 weeks and was awful. then it gradually subsided and I have had about 3 weeks of good sleep. Now it is beginning to return but not too bad. I am planning on keeping it under control by using kratom once or twice a week when it is bad but at the moment, I can generally sleep for 2 hours after using arthrocomm so I can manage on that; 3 x 2 hours sleep is manageable, for me anyway. I certainly don't plan on taking anything like pramipexole again. I'm an optimist and I'm waiting for the cure! Also forgot to mention that I don't get RLS when I play bridge (because my mind is occupied I suppose) but have not yet found anything to replace it. I have tried hypnosis in the past but none of the hypnotists understood about RLS so it didn't work. If anyone knows of a hypnotist who IS familiar with it, please let me know!

Thanks for the good information. I was on 3 a day and proceeding to 4 a day when I decided I needed to kick it. I dropped to 2 a day for several days and then stopped them all together. Boy, what a day that was. It continued non stop for about 30 hours. That is where I am now. What did you use if anything to control the symptoms while you were kicking it? I have got to get some relief.

What is Kratom?

Thanks

there's lots of info about it on this forum just click on kratom from the menu and you will see all the info you need. I also took sleeping pills about every other night for a week when it was at its worst. managed to get some from my doctor but she took some persuading, she just wanted to give me another dopamine drug which I refused.

I bought some and it gave some relief. Camphor oil gives a nice glow. I will also buy some camphor oil and put it in my home made rub
