Hi all, as I have posted before, pregabalin is now controlling my RLS symptoms pretty well and the side effects (headaches, sleepiness, fog) are disappearing now, except for neck pain and raised glands in the neck under my jaws, Seeing doc this week for that. My post concerns PLMD at night, which my long-suffering wife says is as bad as before. Does this mean I should up my pregabalin dose or is it a different condition that needs different treatment? I always thought the two are linked.

Hi. I relate more to the PLMD than the RLS but I can relate to both. It may be different for me though or I have something else too because of being able to move during my dreams/act out which is more like REM sleep behaviour disorder. I’m not diagnosed yet. I’m getting another test next month cause I have some movements while awake as well so it’s probably something else :/ Lol Take care! 😊✌🏼
After my previous post my rsl has started as soon as I get to bed so I have to get up straight away so can't drop off and pace for 2/3 hours then sleep for 3 hours before it wakes me up again. I'm wondering if this is still withdrawals from previous meds or the pregabalin has not quite kicked in yet been talking 12 days I'm taking 3x.25mg mainly from 8pm and 30/50 co-codimal x2. Will it help to space the dose? Any thoughts appreciated.
It may be that previous drugs are interfering . All I can suggest is that pregabalin takes around an hour to start its effect on me and longer if I have recently eaten. I think with all these drugs it is good to experiment with spacing doses (Try looking up drugs,com or similar to look at recommended dosage and time before it's expelled - but it's confusing!) so spacing and empty stomach may help. When I took 3 x 25mg it sedated me too much so I shouldn't guess on your behalf really.
I followed a post I read on this site (yesterday?) which recommended a cup of Cammomile tea (2 bags in 1 cup) and guess what? It worked and I was in bed earlier than for months. I woke up after about an hour but I think the pregab hadn't kicked in yet, so I must experiment with timing as well. I have only tried it once so far but that might be an option for you?

Travelled to London yesterday (about 2 hours train ride) and had a few things to do which meant walking a fair distance, which despite my usual 1000 laps of the kitchen table was heavy duty for me. At the end of the afternoon I had severe pains in my thigh muscles and was glad of the train ride home.
Though comfortable during the morning journey my legs went absolutely crazy during the journey home. I was rubbing my thighs, standing and sitting every few minutes. I was in torment and the other passengers probably thought I was covered in fleas or something lol.
However, arriving home I took 25mg pregabalin, had something to eat and a made a cup of strong cammomile tea. I slept very well indeed (for me that is) and this morning only had mild aches to remind me.
I have taken another 25mg pregab and will take more before bed, before my now-favourite tea. So anyone thinking of exercise for their legs - don't overdo it; more harm than good!
