No longer on Mirapex and I'm drug free!

So, I was diagnosed with RLS during a sleep study over 10 years ago and I was put on.50 mg of Mirapex. It worked wonderful for a long time. I began to notice that my RLS was getting worse. In fact, I discovered that the Mirapex was the culprit! I went off it cold turkey with no ill effects! I don't suffer any longer in the evenings while I'm relaxing watching TV or playing puzzles. I don't understand what happened over the years, but I'm sure glad I paid attention to my body and got off the Mirapex!

Great news.😎

This is truly phenomenal! Well done.

It's great to hear that you managed to get off the Mirapex without withdrawal symptoms.

Never go back!

I too had to stop many years of using Mirapex due to the bad side effects. Overall health has improved after eliminating a very low dose of antidepressant and adding a probiotic to work with food triggers in the gut. Seems to be working well.

I was on Mirapex for approximately 20 years. I felt fine and slept well, untill they lost their lawsuit and stopped making it in the amount I took. I took 1.5 mg each night. When I changed to pramipexole, I started having a lot of dizziness. We are now trying to determine which other drug I'm taking is not compatible. Brunthrush

in reply to

Mirapex is a brand name for pramipexole.

Sorry, I couldn't remember it's actual name. 😉

That was addressed to "Hidden" (Brunthrush) - i.e. the comment immediately above my reply.

I also was on Mirapex for a number of years and got off. I had some really bad times after I got off the Mirapex. But wish I could say I am RLS free but I am not. I have tried all the meds for Parkinson and after awhile none have worked. I now take oxycodone two 5 mg pills in the evening. I cut them in half and start at 5:00 PM taking the pills and then approximately every hour and half for the rest of the evening. I end up taking two 5 mg every night and most of the time it works. I saw sleep study doctor and he prescribed baclofen about a month ago, but so far I don't see any effect on my RLS. Sad because I would love to get off the Oxycodone as I have to go to a pain management facility every month to get a prescription and also leave a urine specimen
