how many times a day have you been doing it?

Once but I know the result will be better if I do twice. I missed two days out and regretted it so I just need to be more disciplined.

I hadn't noticed your link til I did a search for trigger points. Thanks, it looks really interesting. I'm doing the pressure on the backside against the wall exercise. Completely exhausting! I'm beginning to think that rls is indeed wrapped up with knots in muscles - mine have obviously been knotted for about 53 years, so that's a lot of life experience to get stored in the backside :-)

I am currently seeing a chiropractor, and he has been loosening the joints in my back - the bottom one was very stuck. He says the joints tend to get stiff and it keeps the muscles in constant tension. It's my piriformis muscle (the one that presses on the nerves to the legs) that has the trigger points, so it might be an idea to visit the chiropractor too. He gave me the same advice though - massage by butt muscles with a tennis ball. I find I have more leverage and find more knots if I lay on the bed and put the tennis ball under me and roll around on it too.
