the patches
Wow. I didn't know there were patches. Thank you
Unfortunately you are probably experiencing an allergic reaction to the adhesive that keeps the patch on. Have you tried wiping/dabbing some tincture of benzoin (Friar's Balsam) on to the site PRIOR to applying our patch? You would need to let it dry and then apply your patch. Here what it says on Wikipedia:- Medical uses
Tincture of benzoin has two main medical uses: as a treatment for damaged skin in the "Compound" form, and as an inhalant in the non-Compound form.
Compound Tincture of Benzoin (CTB) is often applied to skin before applying tape or other adhesive bandages. To some degree, it protects the skin from allergy to the adhesive in the tape or bandage, but mostly it makes the tape or bandages adhere much longer.[2] It is also used by athletes for its reputation of toughening skin exposed to the tincture. Orthopedists applying a cast often spray CTB in an aerosol can onto skin before casting, as it protects the skin under the cast, and diminishes itching.
As a podiatrist, I would apply Tincture of Benzoin to a patient's skin if I know them to be intolerant of tape adhesive.
when i was using them, i always got a itchy skin after i took them off to change them, but not bad enough to need to treat the itch, it used to just eventually stop itching. Hope you find something to soothe that itch.
I seem to have missed something! What are the patches for? I've had patches for pain relief
before but they didn't help very much. Would appreciate more details. Thank you very much.
The patch is Neupro (rotigotine) and is a dopamine patch for RLS. It is usually started at 1mg and titrated slowly, if needed, to 3mg. It has a lower risk of augmentation than other dopamine agonists because it is worn for 24 hrs and is a longer acting drug. Augmentation rate for neupro is lower than for shorter acting DAs like pramipexole and ropinirole at around 8.5%. As you can see above, main problem is itching at the adhesion site. It's the most expensive DA, which is probably why you are not aware of it. In the UK, you will be offered the cheapest drug first. In the USA, health insurance may not cover it.
Stan I get itchy skin when I take the patch off it lasts about 10mis, x
I thought they had revised the dosing of the Rotigotine to 2mg?
