Very decent of them I thought. I just hope to God that it shows the suffering of the condition properly.

Already shared. :)

Pipps and Raffs- just out of interest, are you in the film???? Or did you contribute? how exciting. I've emailed GP, MS nurse and told the neurologist at King's about it. I'm not on Facebook but have told everyone I can think of to watch.

I posted on the other thread, but will post here also. Perhaps there is a techie person who can record the programe and post to YouTube so those of us in the us can view / share it.

in reply toOneinfiniteloop

If you look at some of the most recent posts about the programme you will see that people have posted ways for you to watch it live.

I have it on good authority that if you search you may find that the most intelligent, sexy and down right loveliest person on here has posted a guide even Madlegs1 could follow :):

Not an interventionist God, the Christians have one of those. I'm a more laid back see how things develop sort of deity. Mind you I really should get my sh1t together on the RLS!!!

Today I shared this on three other forums (all for totally different conditions) that I drop into every now and again. :)

More publicity the better. ;)

I have shared it on FB a few times. :)

Disappointing programme. They had a full hour of showing four peoples symptoms but no research at all! No mention of various causes and how some people recover. No discussion about medication. An hour was time for so much more information. The good part was that I had messages from many friends and family to tell me the programme was to be on.

what a waste of a program,

Yes, the programme had its faults, it was the first RLS televised programme but it has most definitely raised awareness of the condition and also of the charity RLS-UK, if nothing else. This forum is much busier and the RLS FB page is incredibly busy, so the way I look at it is, it was not a waste of a programme, datsoon. Treatment of RLS is complex because it would appear no one treatment, either medication or alternative treatment helps all sufferers. Perhaps there will be a follow up programme on medications etc in the future.

cannot see channel 5 doing a follow up program,it will end up being forgotten, with the public thinking that there are not many people suffering with that, little do people know how painfull it is

Kaarina profile image

I am sorry to hear you feel like this. RLS-UK is doing its best but is a very small charity run by 7 volunteers with 200 paid up members and a few very welcome donations given here and there. Perhaps another channel will do an RLS programme. Who knows? Never thought RLS would ever have air space .... but the condition just has, even if it was not to everyone's liking. That is life.

sorry did not mean to be rude but if i had wanted to see someone having their toe nails being painted i would have gone to a nail salon,as for the bloke hurting his toes, well what did those have to do with rls??

It is fine, datsoon, we are all entitled to our opinion and I am not saying that I totally disagree with you. RLS-UK although involved in the programme did not have any say in the editing. Dr. Spinks who spoke for a few moments had been interviewed for two hours and no doubt Dr. Leschziner was too.

The fellah who had broken toes and fingers suffered with PLMD.

Hi datsoon1, We have had over 10,000 people find us as a result of the programme and that is a huge positive. We are of course disappointed some areas we would have liked were not covered, the basics like what can cause RLS, how to treat it etc. Ultimately we have had thousands of people find us, hundreds of emails and over 700 new people on our Facebook page. So not a waste at all for many people, thankfully.
