Some one from your side of the pond will have to answer you. Here in the UK Horizant isnt available. But, from seeing what other people on other groups i belong to, its like all meds, some find its great, other dont.

Not worth the $240/month cost

My husband has recently been prescribed Gabapentin 300mg for RLS by his sleep apnoea consultant. It seems to be working quite well so far, reducing the severity of the restlessness during the night. There don't appear to be any side effects. I don't know what the cost is though.

Hi, I have been on Lyrica (a med similar to Gabapentin) for 3 months now and while not perfect, it has helped me tremendously. Prior to going on it, I was up until about 5 am with severe restless legs, a situation made worse by fact I have narcolepsy. Lyrica has enabled me to function again but it does make me very tired with an extremely foggy brain.

Good luck to you. :)

Hi Pippins 2, often I can get sufficient relief on 100 mg but if they are really bad, I can do 150 mg. I am reluctant to do 150 mg unless absolutely pressed as it makes me really tired and a bit foggy. Take care.

right now i am taking gabapentin 600 mg. 2x a day with to other meds works most of the time ,but as we all know i could have to change any time, going to have some work on my gums tomorrow pray my arms and legs don't acted up my worst nightmare

I began taking Horizant several months ago. The Dr. started the dose low, but now he has me taking 600 mg 4 x per day now. I have damage to both the major and minor occipital nerves on the right rear of my head. This causes me very severe head pain and nausea that never goes away. It also interferes with my sleep and the less I am able to sleep, the more sever the pain and nausea will be. I am not finding any relief at all frim the Horizant, and both my husband and I have been noticing bouts of memory loss since starting the drug. I am going to see if the Dr can taper down and eventually stop with the Horozant. I hope so because I've also been really dizzy, which can be a side effects of many medications, however it was not happening before I began the Horizant. I have found these same kinds of memory issues with other drugs in the past. Anyone else have effects like this?
