Does anyone know if Horizant is one of those meds that causes augmentation?

Horizant
Horizant is Gabapentin in a form that isn't processed in the stomach.
This means one can take much lower doses of the Gabapentin to be effective, thus lessening many of the nasty side effects of Gaba.
It is expensive, and not available in the civilised world yet (as far as I know).
Good luck. Hopefully your insurer will pay for it.
I was actually on it before and it worked well for me, but then like everything for RLS it started not working as well until it stopped working for me all together. So I weaned myself off of it since my RLS was still bad thinking it might be, like the Requip had done before, causing augmentation. I am about to get some much needed iron infusions beginning this week, but if those don't work, I wanted to have a Plan B. This is why I am considering going back on Horizant if the iron infusions don't work. Thankfully, my insurance covered the Horizant to a point. I had a copay still, but it was worth it for the relief I was getting. That's why I wanted to make sure if I were to go back on it, I didn't want to make things worse by taking a medicine that would augment. So I really appreciate your input! Thank you!!
I have been on it since February. It is working very well but I add 100mg caps of gabapentin throughout the day. I can even take naps occasionally.
