I have a question for this group how many of us have RLS & sleep apena ? And did a CPAP machine reduce any symptoms of RLS over time ? I found out yesterday I have severe sleep apena and I have to order the CPAP machine.

RLS & sleep apena
I have heard of many members of other groups say they have sleep apnea as well as RLS but then many more who have just one of the conditions.I have not heard of anyone getting RLS relief by using a CPAP machine .They do often say they feel more rested and refreshed in the morning though .
In Sweden many of the RLS/WED sufferers also have sleep apnea, and I agree to p1pp1ns that the CPAP does not give any RLS relief but just to get rid of the apneas are just wonderful.
tried the cpap with different masks for six months before coming off it.
the cpap would keep me awake , but the pramipexole works well at night. still have problems in the day when relaxed. the main concern was having to inform the dvla of my condition, but i had a letter from them informing me that i could still drive provided that i was having medication.

I have had RLS for many years and been diagnosed with sleep apnea for about 4 years. My CPAP machine makes no difference to the RLS but on nights I do sleep it gives me a lot of relief.
Hi, the Irish Sleep Trust have an excellent frequently asked Q's on their web site.
Perhaps before going down the route of a CPAP, you should discuss with your medical practitioner the alternative OAT's that are available.
Have a read of the above.
Good luck
I have severe sleep apnea, diagnosed in 1996. I've not found my cpap machine made any difference for my rls.
