Hi all,

This seems to be a good indicator of current NHS thinking re. ME.

Probably most helpful for those newly diagnosed and for friends, family etc who are interested. It's not too tricky to follow and 48mins long.

The transcript doesn't seem to be a complete record - more lecture notes.

There's another lecture tomorrow by Prof. Julia Newton - I'll post link to that when the recording is uploaded in a few weeks time.

The lecture notes are quite basic but guessing what we have learned is not so obvious for students as an introduction.

Look forward to the next lecture with interest.

Dear Mr. Alastair Miller

I read your comments about ME / CFS and the PACE trials, which I found very interesting. From a scientific & medical perspective and legal perspective, the following needs to be communicated to all doctors and medical professionals.

A scientific analysis of the PACE trial - me-ireland.com/bogus.htm#pace

The documented harms caused by exercise and exertion in cases of ME and CFS - me-ireland.com/scientific/1...

Scientific and medical evidence - me-ireland.com/scientific.htm

The legal implications for doctors and medical professionals - me-ireland.com/bogus.htm

This Julia Newton one looks really good - looking forward to the audio, much easier for me than trying to digest text.

Audio with my eyes shut is easiest for me also as pictures are a distraction when processing information.

Curiously, I experience similar, MrsSowester, audio far easier than visual, due to cognitive effects rapidly triggering with screens.

Thanks so much for sharing, Ian, building on Mrs Sowester's interesting post.

Feels Incredible work being done at Newcastle...amazing how they found a way to lab test muscles, to get objective tests...and comparison with controls.

Also significant, how 1/3 of the cases had 'sub clinical cardiomyopathy' (- as a non-physician, I'm not precisely sure what that indicates, yet heart feels absolutely relevant).

I like Prof Newton's commitment and awareness of the need to translate from lab to genuine cure...and her true investigative aproach, aware that the issues maybe 'upstream' or 'downstream' in the body.

Quietly encouraged by her credibility and voicing of the importance to continue. Thanks again, Ian :-)
