..this was worth a read...'

'A good way to think of thoughts of smoking is that "El Nico" is dying. Smoking urges are him struggling to get you to feed him. The longer he goes without being fed, the dimmer his voice will get. He will eventually starve to death. As he gets weaker, the strength he is losing is being transferred to you. You are gaining strength each time you are successful at not smoking. If you were to light up, El Nico would smile his evil smile and say, "I tricked her into feeding me, so now I'm gonna be in charge again!" Don't let this happen.'....I WONT AGAIN..YOU ARENT IN CHARGE AGAIN EL NICO..NO WAY !!!

haha, that's good. See, you fed him and he thought it was crap, so ungrateful that El Nico that I would take great offence if I were you and never feed him again.

Doh, just pretend it never happened. When you get up in the morning just tell yourself it was a hiccup that was never meant to happen and carry on.........with day 7. Plus I keep meaning to read something you put on a few days ago and still haven't got around to it, it looked really interesting but been having so much fun in the sun.

Don't forget now tomorrow is Day 7 of not smoking. Night :)

Hey Jan, you've done fab getting to day 6 so well done for that :-)

The thing with cravings and then even succumbing to them, is that the thought of smoking is nearly always better and nicer than the actuall act of smoking itself.

The fact that you've put it out early and got back on it straight away is a big step. Don't let your effort, or this little slip go to waste. Make sure you learn from it and think about the following for if there is a next time;

1. What do you believe put the initial thought about smoking in the first place?

2. What was your thought process leading from number 1 to actually going ahead, lighting the roll up and the taking your first whiff of it? Really think about this one, did you put up much of a battle or just give in straight away? What were you thinking along the way?

3. Did you enjoy the first part of smoking it? Was it as 'nice' as you thought it would be? what did it taste like?

4. How did it make you feel whilst you smoked it? Did you feel any sense of relief? Did you feel that it 'fed' a need?

5. How did you feel afterwards? Happier? Satisfied? Guilty?

6. What can you learn from any of the above?

7. How likely are you to get caught out again?

The key to success for you here, is that you learn from this slip up and think about all the ones you haven't had. Don't let this one wipe out your whole attempt.

You really can do this. Slip ups aren't inevitable but they do happen.

Get back on it... Like a car bonnet! :-)

Thank you Emjay..Ive read through and will keep re-reading ..the initial thought was put in place by what seemed like 48 hours of constant nic in head..I did put up a long lengthy battle from about 2pm today(the deed only happened before i posted) i remember being in the kitchen and i actually said 'oh just have one and get it out of your system' thats when i pinched and rolled and lit..NO I didnt enjoy..maybe the first suck..then I thought this is crazy youve gone 6 days ,this stinks and the taste in my mouth is yuk.,chemical taste. With the first suck I felt relief from the nagging,so i guess it fed that need..after i didnt feel happier ,satisfied or guilty..I felt like ..woah..ok get rid of this,its ok,you know you dont want this back in your life.. I dont want to smoke..i think its made me more determined to kick butt ! :)
