Well I’ve read all the info and ordered the nicotine replacement kits that are being delivered tomorrow. I’ve set quitting day on the app to start in three days and am very nervous about it all. I’ve been losing weight (1st to date ) and started the couch 2 5 K but at week three I’m in no doubt I need to stop smoking. I am also very shameful about the fact I am asthmatic and smoking. I really want this journey to work 😩 so here it goes, wish me luck. I have given up before pre pregnancy , through the pregnancy until my son was a year old. I have enjoyed the fantastic health unlocked support with weight loss so know Ive come to the right place. 🤗😀👍🏃🏽‍♀️

Thanks so much. Ive spent the whole day reading and researching. It’s strange how as a smoker I totally avoided the harsh reality of the damaging effects of smoking. My 10yr old son is constantly asking me to quit and I really do owe it to him to stop and be a good role model. I’m not shy of saying though , this seems incredibly daunting!!!!! The more I think about giving the more Ive smoked today 😬🙄🤢 but I’m working my way through the pinned posts and will be a daily visitor here once quitting day arrives 😂😊😀😀😀 thanks for your support ❤️

I totally agree that the idea of quitting can seem daunting. I suggest you write a list of all the reasons why you want to quit and put it somewhere you go often. Mine is still on the fridge after 14 months. I also have Snoopy on a cloud, saying NOPE,not today as a screen saver on my phone.

N.O.P.E. is our mantra Not One Puff Ever they are little things but I promise you they help.

I also suggest that you research into the benefits of quitting instead of all the damage it causes.

You can do this.xx

Well done on making the decision to stop. I decided in January that I needed to make some pretty big life changes this year... I started by losing weight (2.5st by August), I then stared C25K (I did W8R1 yesterday) and finally I stopped smoking on the 2nd Sept.

Running is helping massively with the stopping smoking and I have been using the 4mg niquitin lozenges which I have found great. The support in here has been fantastic too!

On Saturday after completing my first Parkrun a friend gave me a key ring saying 'she believed she could do it so she did' and it was perfect..... believe in yourself!

Thank you so much, just the positive feedback I needed. So glad to hear you have conquered the same goals I have set myself. I hadn’t even considered giving up smoking but one path led me to another. 😀
