Painful breathing

Is it normal to still have lung pain and difficulty breathing 3 months after quitting. I feel so miserable. All tests are clear. I've never felt so ill. Head ache, feel sick, palpitations and dizzy. I'm losing the will.

Hi Percy, I believe you are suffering from the "icky threes" this is quite common around the 3 month milestone. Basically you feel like death warmed up!

You did well to have tests done, as they are clear there's nothing to worry about, just a difficult bit on the quitting rollercoaster ride.

If you look at the pinned posts there's information about it.

Hang in there, you're doing really well.🚭👍

Thank you so much. I didn't realise that quitting could be so hard and makes you feel so ill. Everything you read gives a rosy picture of how well you will feel in a short space of time. I've been so close to giving in. It's great to have the support of others who share their experiences. I'm actually enjoying being smoke free but hating how Ill I feel.

It takes patience to quit. You will feel better I promise ,this is just a sticky bit in your quitting journey. Here's a link which should help. Try to be patient with yourself and kind to your body.

Thank you. Been to doctors today and he's given me anti depressants. I really feel rough and the lung pain is getting worse. Feel sick and dizzy all the time. Have taken paracetamol for the pain but it doesn't work.

I’m glad you went to the Doctor and he has given you something to help. I think the meds may take a little while to kick in so if you still feel this way, you can always go back and tell your Doc.

Thinking of you and really hope you start to feel better soon.

This is only a temporary blip and you’ve done so well👍

Keep us close🚭✅xx

I'm so glad I found this group. I quit on 25th May when I was diagnosed with pneumonia. My stress levels have been off the scale having to deal with quitting and pneumonia at the same time. I had initially decided on 1st June as my quit date but pneumonia beat me to it. I'm lucky that I haven't had cravings as such it's the side effects. If it wasn't for this group and your support I'd be googling everything and scaring the life out of myself. Thank you.
