Day 2 giving up for good πŸŽ‰

Hi all, this is about my tenth attempt of giving up! But I'm determined this time 😊 My birthday yesterday gave me a big wake up call, what a better present then to never smoke again 😁 I've previously tried patches, gum, a magnet 😳, read the Alen Carr book around 20 times! But I've now decided to go on will power πŸ’ͺ. Feeling very positive about everything but have a terrible headache, something I never experienced in previous attempts, any suggestions on how to stop it? Be great to meet someone else with the same start date if poss!! Xx

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but about 11 days on and off. It comes and goes, try not to focus on it hun and keep sipping that water. Water is also good to stop the cravings, every craving you get have a sip of water :) your starting out now and i know it scary and seems like you have got a hard road ahead, but before you know it the time has flown and ur feeling fantastic :)Β

Welcome Selina, well done. You can do it . I think I have tried more than 20 times in my life, but never got this far, I think determination and support from here has helped me, so stay close and take one day at a time. I would just say to myself not smoking today , and before I knew it 9 weeks. Headaches will pass I had them for several weeks on and off. Drink water and fresh air helped me. Stay strong . This time you are going to do itΒ

HI Selina and a warm welcome to quit support πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ‘

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking, this truly is the best thing you can do for your future health πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ‘

You are brave to quit cold turkey but with a strong determination it is very doableπŸ˜€( l quit cold turkey after smoking 30 a day for 40 years)😫😫 if I can - anyone can.πŸ˜€

Do read up on the info under the pinned posts as there is lots of helpful informationπŸ‘πŸ˜€

List your reasons for quitting and use this as your constant reminder πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Like mentioned by others, do drink lots of water, this helps flush out all the toxins as well help with cravings.

Keep this site nice and close as all of us have been where you are now and understand the challenges...just know that what ever you go through as your body adjusts to you being a non smoker - none of it last for too longπŸ˜€πŸ˜€ and is so worth it in the end πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

LInda xx

Way to go Selina πŸ‘πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ great quit going on!!!!

.. I had headaches too... I just took a Tylenol .... All the physical symptoms pass by 3 to 4 weeks and yours could pass in a week Β .....every Β one is individual in their quit..

You tried magnets? How did manufacturer claim magnets were supposed to help you? :) I also experienced headaches but it was temporary. Move around - go for a walk or ride a bicycle - it will help!Β

It's just your body getting used to running without daily intake of toxins. It's actually a good thing and try to enjoy because that's your body rearranging itself to run more efficiently and on a higher gear.Β

Don't forget that you are better off. Smoking cause headaches and many other things Β !!!!

Apparently the magnets were suppose to put pressure on certain points of your ear to surprise the need to smoke. I was desperate and willing to try and thing :)

Hello! Β I am on day 2 today so I am only aΒ bit behind you.Β  I am on the patch.Β  I've found it not bad so far.Β  I did try this last week, made it to Friday, and then it all went downhill.Β  Sunday I decided that enough is enough and put the patch back on.Β  I too have tried to quit smoking it seems like too many times to count!Β  I'm finding the "quitters cough" to be terrible this time and am not sure if its because maybe its spring and I've got a bit of allergies or what!Β  I'm sure as the days go by it will lessen...definitely an incentive for me to not light up that's for sure!Β  I started smoking when I was 16 quit for a few months here and there and now I'm 35...

Anyways, nice to see a post from someone with a quit date close to mine...we've got it this time!!!!!
