hi Natalie may i say well done for being an 8 month smoke free person very proud of you for that, i packed in 12 years ago and like you i started with chest problems lucky for me it cleared up and was left with asthma, one thing i will say is the longer your free from smoking and from being around people that smoke could help your asthma, you have been very positive already by 8 months smoke free, just take one day at a time and hopefully things could improve for you. hope your o.k in your daily live take care your friend Always Alan from England xx
Couldn't put things better than BigAlan did, above.
Bless you .. & keep up the great "quit"!
Hiya Nat, you have an amazing achievement with 8 months quit and if you can do that, then you can do anything👍🏼 your positive attitude and determination has got you this far and you should be very proud of it, well done. Thinking of you💐😊
Hi Nat, am right in your corner with you! Mine's an 8 month quit too-stopped May Bank holiday last year. I can empathise with your fear & disappointment-you pack in this addiction which takes commitment, bravery and b....y hard work only to discover the toll smoking has taken on your physical wellbeing. I was diagnosed with COPD a couple of weeks back after a 40 year habit. However, I am SO glad I stopped because the benefits really do outweigh the negatives. Yeah, I may have mucked up my breathing but I can still walk my dog twice a day- 1 to 2 miles and can run up the stairs. I have my confidence back, feel more self assured and am able to handle 'stuff' in a much more capable way. The list goes on & on. I don't, however, feel so on edge wondering how I can fit the next fag in, feel 'less than' around others who don't smoke, etc etc. You don't need me to list all the maladaptive stuff that goes with smoking! Having a diagnosis of asthma is horrible for you-I get it-but it's something you have-it doesn't have you. You just adapt a little and embrace your new found life. So fellow 8 monther, I wish you peace & all the best, much love, Poll x
i totally agree with what the others have said....the great thing Nat is that you are a non smoker now and you are in a much better position to manage the asthma
Life can throw us some tough blows, we just have to pick ourselves up and make the very best out what we have
All the very best Nat - love Lindaxx
Hi Nat,
Geeze, sorry to hear about your asthma .... I have allergies now to my animals.... I cannot believe it...... I'm hoping it doesn't turn into bad asthma .... I have an inhaler now and I take pseudo -ephedrine ever day so I can breath.... Oh boy..... Maybe as time goes on, it will get better for me....... Maybe my system is in shock still from quitting and my body needs time to heal.....
Way to go .. 8 months👏🎉🎉
Natalie, congratulations on your 8 months quit. You're a non-smoker, how cool is that?
Of course it's the best thing you could have done, given your condition. Hope you manage to keep your asthma under control.
