Staying strong: Coming up for six weeks Sunday... - Quit Support
Staying strong
Good morningโ๏ธ Yesterday was a horrendous day of physical exhaustion and nausea.......seems that is a description of my 2 week withdrawal so far and I nearly lit up........I've been going cold turkey so instead of lighting up I chewed a piece of nicotine gum and I got my thoughts back on track... That was close... The people on this site have been so encouraging......so all the best to you and as they say on this site......NOPE NOT ONE PUFF EVER๐ท
.. and we're glad you're with us, too
You are most definitely not on your own Lottie, so well done and keep going๐x
Love the support on this site. We're all in this together. Way to go 6 weeks๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ
Hello fellow six weeker. I have a very similar feeling. I think about cigs especially when I am stressed but I just keep say nope not one puff ever!!!! I can't and wont go back!
Everything we do is a trigger and it takes time to retrain our brains to get back to being a non smoker. Each time you fight the urge you are one step closer to your goal and to a healthy, clean and happier you. great work!
Thank you feeling much better today just comes over me sometimes
Goodmorningโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ๐จ๐ฆ We can all just say NOPE NOT ONE PUFF..... You're doing great๐
I'm only on third day- feel ok sometimes!
But then i have massive urge feel like crying right now as want a cigarette so badly ahh
Hi there. You'll be okay.... Just remember you are not alone giving up cigarettes. We're all in this together ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ซ๐ฌ we have to change our lifestyles a bit in the beginning and watch for triggers like having a drink may not be a good idea in the first couple weeks or hanging out with friends who smoke for the first bit. It's worth it. I promise. You will feel better about yourself and your mood will improve believe it or not and you will become calmer. Cigarettes actually aggravate anxiety and depression. There are some good reads on this site how cigarettes reduce serotonin in the brain which is a feel good chemical in our brains. Hang in there and our motto is........NOPE....... NOT ONE PUFF....EVER xx
Hiya Annie and welcome to quit support ๐
Well done on making the decision to quit and just remember those first few days are a huge challenge and here you are on day 3, so congratulations. We've all felt that overwhelming desire to light up so be very proud of yourself. Better to have a few tears than a cigarette. When those cravings come, get up and move around and try to keep very busy as well. We have some breathing techniques under pinned posts on the right, to help a craving pass. Sip lots of water to flush out the toxins and keep plenty of fresh fruit to hand for healthy snacks. You will get stronger as each day passes and there's lots of help and advice here too. Good luck, believe in yourself and you can do it๐๐ผ๐x
Aup Annie_Ash22, a big warm welcome to our friendly quit support community and a massive well done to you for getting to your third day quit
Annie, I see our lovely girls have given you some great advice Have a good cry Annie, this will help to relieve the pressure Maybe sit yourself down and write out the WHY'S you want to be free from the cigs WHAT the benefits would be to you Then stick them around the house where you think you will get the urges to smoke and every time you see one, read it out to yourself, soooo, it gets embedded in your mind if you see what I mean
We have to sort of brain wash ourselves to not wanting a ciggy
I will put your quit date down as Wednesday 7th October if it is different then please let me know and I will gladly rectify it for you
Take care now and hope to speak soon
Pete
