So its been over a week for me now, and I have £160 in my Jar, or at least I did... my sparkly party shoes were £60, so I have £100 currently so I am using it to get my teeth whitened :) I have wanted to get it done for years, but seemed pointless while I was still smoking. I will get myself booked in for the end of the month :)

What has your extra cash gone on? Or is it lots of little treats for you, rather than big things?

Have a great day,

Al xx

Al, that is absolutely brilliant! Well done to you!

I did set up a post, ages and ages ago that was to display what members had spent their money on - I think it was before the site was updated though. I'll have a little goosey gander and see if I can find it...

Well done to you :-)

Do you actually know how much you spend on your smoking habit? Even better, if you have already stopped smoking, have you noticed all those pennies turning into pounds?

Have a look at the following cost calculator and see which way it works out for you;

Based on 20 cigarettes costing £7.00

10-a-day:

£3.50 a day

£24.50 a week

£106.16 a month

£1,274 a year

20-a-day:

£7.00 a day

£49.00 a week

£212.33 a month

£2,548 a year

30-a-day:

£10.50 a day

£73.50 a week

£318.49 a month

£3,822 a year

40-a-day:

£14.00 a day

£98.00 a week

£424.66 a month

£5,096 a year

I buy beads,my most expensive habit (call it an addiction really) I'm not working because of the back (haven't really worked since 2011 except for a 6 month contract from April last year,I managed to collapse with stomach pain 3 weeks after I started and had emergency Gall bladder surgery which laid me low for 8 weeks!!) So whilst money is tight I only spent money on what I saw as essential (cigs) now I get to indulge my guilty beading habit and hubby no longer moans.

Hey H,

Better a bead addiction than a nicotine one....ouch at gall bladder issues :( , my mum suffered from issues with hers, nasty indeed, you need to post some pics of the stuff you make :) x
