Jillian, why don't you e-mail Allon therapeutics? Their website is easily found if you google it. They may have some answers? I thought the recent news article regarding the cancer drug trial that was stopped mid trial as it was immoral and unjust to deny life saving treatment to others was interesting. If others are having the same benefit as Izreal then perhaps this might happen? Perhaps the trial needs a little further analysis first who knows. Perhaps not everyone is getting the same benefit?

Hi

It most surely will be a nasal spray. Because, its the only way to get the medication into the brain. A scientist in Isreal came up with that idea because, injecting it directing into a vein causes the protein to break up and be ineffective. Also, a pill was useless because it would be absorbed through the stomach. So, yes, it will be a nasal spray!

Hope this helps.

Oh ya, one more thing. When this trial is over, after the analysis, if it is proven to be effective....rather than going into another bigger trial, which is the norm, the FDA has said that it will allow the drug to be produced!! This is because PSP is classified as an orphan (nothing on the market for it). So, lets keep our fingers crossed that it produces fabulous results. So far, from what I have read, I am encouraged.

Hi

Your comments are most helpful and if these trials do prove beneficial, it would be wonderful if the drug can be produced without having to wait for so much of the usual "red tape". As a carer, I hardly dare imagine how great it would be if we could see a little light at the end of this very long tunnel! Thanks for the explanation of how it works too.

hi Suzie,

I know exactly how you feel!! My Dad questions me incessantly about drugs to help him .. At least 50 times a day!! I tell him what I have learned each day, but, like you, I would LOVE to tell him davunitide was available now....what a great day that WILL be!

take care
