Willowden,
That is so kind. My dear wife, Ruth really is always amazing. (And it is a shame that we cannot all meet up....so much to share.)
She was diagnosed with CBD when she was 57 and she is 65 now and in the later stages of the disease. But throughout she has rarely complained and she has kept up a positive outlook despite her decline. This has allowed the children to come to terms with it (five in total – now aged between 24 and 42). We have had so many adventures over the past 8 years – in the early years holidays abroad, now it is perhaps just sitting around a fire in the garden. (I am very grateful that we have lucky enough to have been able to afford the holidays etc. and the lovely personal carers on which we now depend.....) And big thanks to modern medicine and pills: there may not yet be a cure or even a way to slow down the progression, but it has provided ways to improve her mood and fight off gloom and to help with stiffness and reflux etc. But the bottom line is that Ruth is (and long may she continue to be) Always Amazing for someone living with this horrible CBD / PSP!!!
Big thanks to PSPA for the award. It has meant so much to her.
Richard 🙂
