Thinning hair when taking Sinemet

My wife has PSP and has been taking Levadopa brand name Sinemet for nearly a year but currently on a low dosage. For many months her hair has been getting thinner and thinner. I have just been advised that this is a reasonably common side effect of taking the drugs. I also understand that if you come off the medication the hair grows back. Has anyone got any knowledge of this?
