Can anyone give me advice on washing someones hair who is bed bound. I need to wash mums hair and dont want to use the powder spray products on the market. Mum has PSP so obviously has difficulties controlling her head movements.

I thought I'd posted this before but it obviously got lost in cyber space lol!!

Is it possible to pull her bed out and take pillow away put table or chair at top of bed with basin and if she can lie back with plenty towels around and a jug to rinse. Hope this helps!

Have you tried the shampoo caps. They look like a shower cap and its impregnated with a shampoo. you put it on the head and give it a good massage etc and there is no need to rinse. All you do after is towel dry hair and brush it. I get mine from disabled shop but they are sold on line. Hope this helps. Janexx

This is an excellent product - a flat, inflatable basin with drainage tube (see the link below). I used it for many years with my mother, who was also bed-bound.

Don't pay any more than about £16. They are also sold for £30 - £50 but these are pretty much th same product.

Hope this helps

Amanda.
