I have such a hard time speaking loud enough to be understood. I had speech therapy lastyear and try to do it often, but it seems my voice volume is stuck at low. I have seen voice ampliers addressed on Amazon. Has anyone used one and what kind was it?

We tried a few they worked well in terms of voice amplification but the on / off switches were too small and fiddly to use so in the end we gave up. It was a few years ago so hopefully there's better ones available now. Good luck hope you find one that helps
I lost half the volume of my voice several years ago... literally overnight. I regularly practice speech exercises. They have helped with annunciation, but not so much with volume. There are several assistive communicative devices, including apps for a smart phone available. Check with your SLT to see what she/he recommends.
Ruth's voice has got quieter and quieter now but for a good year or more it was helped by getting the SALT to teach her the LSVT voice technique (all privately paid for and not cheap as it was lessons 3 times a week initially). The key to the LSVT technique is to raise the volume; the very act of raising the volume improves the articulation so that she could be understood. I think the problem with using just amplification is that the articulation will not be helped? Good luck - it is so important to be able to keep talking.....
We have the same issue with volume and clarity of speech. Have you looked into SpeechVive? It's just be OK'd by Medicare and helps with both of these...if used with speech therapy it appears to help with both...it's pretty new to the market...good luck
Hi, I Agree with others, regarding SALT and learning to speak loud.
Personally we tried a basic voice amplifier which would amplify the noise from breathing as much as the voice so wasn't very successful. We also tried one that fits around the neck to pick up vibrations, this is fine as long as they are still using their vocal chords to speak and not forming their words in their mouth as in whispering.
At the end of the day it is about muscle control in the throat and mouth which for my wife have deteriorated so much she can barely say one word.
Before you loose your voice completely please look at voice banking where your voice can be saved for use on speech devices in the future, sadly we did not and my wife's voice is list forever.
