Has anyone else found that Ativan helpful with freezing gait and other symptomsimmediately . My exhusband who has been on this journey for 4 years was diagnosed with PSP in March and after many long hospitalizations for anxiety, depression, freezing gait, urinary issues etc the drugs settled upon seem to be Sinemat, Ativan, Zoloft and some other drugs. When Ativan was reinstated after being removed by a primary care doctor, freezing gait and lack of speech which they have called catatonia, (but it wasn't since he bounced back immediately on low dose Ativan), lack of appetite, swallowing issues and low blood pressure were resolved. The primary care doc can't explain it and is reluctant to prescribe. Neurologist said she does not treat catatonia and moved to another assignment so he is without a specialist now...

I have with diazepam, a closely related drug. I have bad reactions to muscle relaxers and asked to give this a try. 2mg can help me sleep overnight as muscle relaxers do for other people but leave me woozy in the morning so I need to be careful about moving around but it works!
