My husband has just started having muscle spasms in his legs. He was diagnosed with PSP April. He is bed bound. Does anyone know of any kind of relief that works as well as pain relief medication.

Hi, my husband gets neck spasms and the doctor has prescribed Diazepam which works well with paracetamol. All the best.

What do you mean by spasms ? The muscles get all contracted and the legs become totally stiff ? If the case, one of the items that can help is to reduce the amount of time where the legs are straight. A high cushion under the knees will keep the legs bent, or turned on the side with the legs well bent (foetal position) impedes the contraction, hence the stiffness, hence the pain. You can’t contract easily the leg muscles if the leg is bent.
