Our journey is over for my dad with PSP. He left us on 5th July. He was a man who never felt sick in his life. A person who would never start his day without yoga practice for 75 minutes. He was already broken when doctor told him that this disease do not have any cure. He came to visit me at US on 2018 and luckily I got appointment with Penn medicine. Doctor explained us the disease and our fight started with the dreadful disease. Last few days he was choked a lot and then he had cerebral attack and left in peace after having the last tea in morning with my mom. We made home hospital and never put him in rice tube . My mom was his caregiver along with designated nurse at home. Nurse guided us during last minute and he actually left in arms of my mom. My mom and dad had special bond and they were connected to each other since my mom was 13 years old. I hope now he is free of pain and happy with God beside him.
Hero of my life. Wish I could hug him once more. This group was great help to me and I used to guide my mom with all the advises shared by you all. Big thank you to all!!!
Thanks,
Mona

Sincere condolences Mona to you and your family. Your dad is now free from this evil disease and whole again. I hope the many happy times you all shared together with him will help you through the days that lie ahead.
Sorry to hear about your dad, Mona. The nature of this disease is that it is not linked to the patient's health history. I lost my dad last year to PSP. His decline was over just 6 months. He never spent a night in the hospital all his life until the PSP diagnosis. Losing him was very hard for us to accept. I can empathize with what you are going through. Choking while eating is an end stage symptom. That often leads to aspirational pneumonia. My condolences to you, your mom and everyone who is grieving his passing.
A heart broken news Mona dear. so sorry to hear that sad news. I pray you and specially your mother will go through peacefully with this grieving time and blessings for your dad's soul. aameen. Be strong & love always
