My mum has CBD..she urinates 2 to 3 times every hour from 9am to 10.30pm..between 10.30pm and 11.15pm tonight she went 3 times. At 12.20 she just woke me to take her again she had flooded her padded underwear and double pad..her nightie and bed also flooded and left a train of urine into the bathroom.and shes just gone again..ive washed her changed her and stripped the bed shes now back in bed...she will sleep until 7.30am and the day will start all over again like clockwork...

A/ Shes taking betmega morning and night and KENTERA patches permanently..these are supposed to stop her urinating????

B/ She refuses to drink fluids during the day so has a cup of tea at 1pm and 7pm..and water with her medication 4 times a day..thats it..

Im at the end of my tether!!!!

GP says its all neurological..anyone else with the similar problem..

Kylie sheets can save a lot of work from changing the whole bed.

My wife was catheterised to solve that problem very early on in our journey with CBD catheters are far from perfect but served us well throughout.

I just take the old bag to the toilet every 60/90 mins during the day, this works for us. At night she is normally ok but she will move or kick me if she needs to go. trial and error finds a solution.

She goes to the bathroom every half hour from the time she gets up to bedtime😪

Oh dear, how exhausting! My mother’s trips to the bathroom (many false alarms) are not nearly as often though I feel like we are spending our lives in there. Does your mother need help each time? Maybe a urologist could evaluate her and go over various options.

The fact that the urges do go away with sleep sounds hopeful. Do they go away with distraction/keeping busy?

Its exhausting as mum is in a wheelchair and has no use of her hands either...

Sounds as though catheter may be a solution for you.

My husbands urinary frequency was helped ( a little) by the combination of medication ( took ages to find right combination) and Accupuncture = Posterior tibial nerve stimulation was the most helpful.

Hope you can find something which helps your mom too.

I hope this helps. My wife has CBD. My wife goes to the bathroom regularly in the day but at night she may get up once and sometimes never. My wife has just being admitted to our local hospice for an assessment at the Heart of Kent. If you’ve a hospice local to you get in touch. It has benefited my wife because they’ve given lots of help with pain control, inconstancy etc. They’ve fitted a catheter this seems to work for my wife. I hope you get the help soon. Alex

How exhausting for you both. Agree with Anne's Husband, Kylie sheets can save alot of work and waterproof mattress covers and absorbant seat pads (fabric ones). What type of pads is she using? There are some really heavy duty ones available which in the UK you can get prescribed. Have you a continence nurse? They may be able to offer some tips, prescribe better pads or suggest whether a catheter would be appropriate. I hope you find a more satisfactory solution, it must be distressing for you both.

Now waiting to see a continence nurse...have all the above for her bed and we get the heavier pads for at night from the hse

My husband wears two pullups and 5 shields during the night. During the day one pullup and two shields (which are changed throughout the day). Products may be different here in Canada and all medical purchases are deductible Income Tax time.

Hi there - my mum has CBD but has the opposite problem. During the day she goes every few hours but at night after about 2 hours sleep she needs to go every 30-60mins. That's when she had to move into a nursing home because she lived on her own and kept falling when she got up in the night. Now she can't even get up from the bed without carers and a SarahStedy. So the experimenting is with a bedpan or pads though I'm trying to understand quite what's going on as I get different stories about not changing pads enough.

It may well be that your mum's medication is working and it's stopping her going in the night! Our attempt with a continence nurse before she went into the home was useless as they just left a sheet with instructions about collecting urine with no concept that someone with zero balance and use of only one hand can't possibly put jugs in the loo and measure urine output! Sorry I can't be more help other than to say this seems normal for CBD!

I assume you are having to assist with all these bathroom trips. Are you full time carer for your mum or are you doing this while trying to work/ look after kids etc? If the latter you need to get in more help and if the former you need to get some respite!

Is there no support for you from your Health System? Do you have access to a Medical Supply store? They may be able to help you with purchases.

You definitely need support from your System.

I am sorry you are having a rough time. It has helped my 90 year old mother greatly to have a commode chair next to her bed. So all she has to do is move to the end of the bed and the chair is there. There is also less fall risk.

In the Parkinsons Forum there is lots of information on nocturia and one of the things that has helped my husband is taking melatonin one hour before bedtime.

Hope this helps you
