The nursing home my mum is in gas closed its doors to all but essential (end of life) visitors. This is really tough 😢 Of course I understand the reasons but the little time we have left is precious. I am phoning everyday and we are organising an I-pad for FaceTime calls but nothing replaces holding mums hand, stroking her arm or simply holding her close.
Sending heartfelt love to all of you out there who are experiencing the same at a time that is difficult enough.
Love Denise

Know how you feel. My Mum's home is in lock down as well. She has Alzheimer's, so I just hope she still remembers us, when this is all over. The Home are asking for volunteers, in case of staff shortages. Didn't really want anything else to do with caring again, but at least it will be a way of seeing Mum, if they do need me.
Hi Anne....Great that Volunteers can still go in to facilities that have been locked down..My sister's home is not allowing volunteers or even outside PSW's !!
Will have to go a police check before allowed to take part, so not really very hopeful. Can't imagine the police speeding up these sort of procedures. What has this world turned into, in an extremely short time????
Feel so much for all of you who are having to go through these forced separations. It is so hard. xxx
Safety First is so hard in situations like these. Glad you can do face time and phone calls with your mom even though l agree there is nothing better than holding her hand. Sending hugs... Granni B
Hi Denise, it is hard being separated from a loved one, my husband has been in a Care home for a year with PSP & they went into lockdown yesterday so it's hard not visiting and not knowing how long this will go on for ?? I hope he doesn't get restless when not seeing regular family and friends. Regards phil
