This has been an uphill journey, and we face each day with the spirit of a warrior! This is Mom secured in her “stand assist unit” ... I just bought a second one (used) for our summer lake house!
She maintains a beautiful spirit and smiles through the challenges. Her voice is quietly disappearing, and she is now sleeping 2-3 hours a day in the afternoon ... but, we press forward!
I remind her every day that we have air in our lungs and surrounded by wonderful family and friends ... we are blessed, and encouraged as we find the joy in every single day. I do believe that mental health is so very important, and that is my mission with Momma ...
Blessings to all ... one day a time.

It’s hard to understand why ... some days can be incredibly overwhelming. This past week alone I have had a couple of breakdowns; missing her voice, our conversation, her honest advice... Heartbreaking. I count it an honor to care for her ... all the way! ❤️
You are a Warrior Woman (even on days when spirits run low & worries come calling). Falls & injuries happen & you deal with them & create lovely outfits for your puppy. I think everyone on this site is a true Warrior. Sending hugs... Granni B
Hubby took a nose dive into the laundry hamper, tweaked his neck and the “good” side if his body. We’ve had a bit of a setback. Started Gabapentin for pain. Now we have abba-dabba (name for levadopa) and gabba. Abba-dabba-gabba!
Oh I'm sorry. Those falls are terrible. Sandy had so many when he was still walking. It was almost a relief when he couldn't walk anymore. I hope he heals up soon.
Love your sense of humor. You've got to keep it. It's the only way to keep on keepin' on.
MIL is on Gabapentin, if the dosage you are using doesn't seem to be working call his doctor and discuss an increased dose. A person can go quite high on the dosage according to MIL's doctor.
I love the picture and the joy! I totally agree about the mental health aspect. We try to keep a positive attitude and concentrate on the good in life. I too have my moments, but I try to keep them away from my husband.
