So far so good --- our stand assist unit arrived this past week, and I have to say that my Momma is all smiles as we navigate and learn to use this new ride. I was searching for the brand Sara Stedy, but due to high cost here in the US, and immediate need for something, I went ahead and ordered this brand via Amazon. Some of the reviews highlighted the possible difficulty on carpet; I agree, but not a reason not to have this in our home. It takes a bit more muscle to push over the carpeted areas, but it is not a reason not to buy --- overall, I think we will keep it. I am trying to get used to the size -- width wise it is exactly the same as our transport chair that we've been using, I just have to get used to the overall size.
Now, I think will find a used one on FB marketplace, and have one up at our lakehouse -- quite the savings on this brand for those needing something less expensive.
I might add that it has been a stress free week for Mom, she has not had to move her body, turning and freezing feet from one chair to another, or from toilet to chair, etc. Her upper body strength makes this work, so without that -- we could not keep this.
Finding the joy in every day.

This is going to sound like a silly question. When you push the stand assist your mom is facing you, so she would be going backwards? Or, do you pull it so that she is moving forward? I’m trying to picture in my mind if my husband would feel dizzy if he’s being pushed backwards.
She is facing me and I push --- so, yes she is going backwards; doesn't seem to bother her - I think she loves it -- zero stress in having to move from point A to point B. Im wondering if you look on Facebook Marketplace, find one, and see if the seller will let you test it? Hind sight, I would probably have attempted that had I thought of it before.
I’m so glad that you found something for the both of you that helps! It’s so cool that your mom likes it too! I will definitely put this on the list of things to consider down the road. Thank you for sharing this with us. So good to know when something works!
Lumex on Amazon (with option to return for full refund) $550.00 Sara Stedy brand is $3k .. just wasn’t going to take that risk financially and not know if it would really fill the need.
So glad this is working for you & mom... Sending hugs to you both... Granni B
I love to read your 'positive' comments! My sister has just started using a 'lift' to transfer her from bed to chair in the Long Term Care facility and she has had a hard week as she is accepting the fact she is in a 'decline'...We had a tearful visit yesterday which for her is unusual...Bless your mom for being so positive and she has a wonderful smile...It brightened my day!!!
