Larry had neck pain due to his head falling to one side all the time. Physical therapy may help as well as massage and ibuprofen.
Dad had neck and shoulder pain due to the tilting down of his head. Try massages, heat and/or cold packs plus an over the counter anti-inflammatory medicine. Always check with the doctor or pharmacist before adding any new medicines, there may be side affects with a medicine you are currently taking.

Sorry you’re having pain. In addition to Jeff & Ron’s comments, my husband gets relief from wearing a neck brace a few hours a day. I don’t know if you can lift his head up enough to try one but the neck brace helps to take some weight off of his shoulders. My husband neck pain is caused from spasms and also if he sleeps in an odd way, if that makes sense. I hope you can find a way to manage the pain. Please let us know how your doing.

My son had severe neck pain. He couldn't move it to the left or right. When he sat he needed a high back chair or would roll his jacket and put it behind his neck up against a wall. He had the neck dystonia early on. His Neuro gave him Botox shots, but it helped very LITTLE. He use to rush me thro his PEG feedings because of his discomfort.
I am so sorry for your PSP and your neck pain that is accompanying it. Many do not suffer from the neck pain.
So sorry that is happening to you. My mother's massage therapist is great in this regard. I have been googling and youtubing.."cervical dystonia"...you might find something helpful...the Dystonia Association has info..they even recommend a certain type of yoga.
My husband, who has PSP, has frequent neck pain..........
I have neck pain as part of my rigidity. However, I also have mid thoracic and hip pain due to Ankylosing Spondylitis and abdomen pain due to Crohn's Disease. I'm unable to take most OTC pain relievers due to long term drug interactions.

My husband had bad neck pain . A deep massage gave temporary relief but he s been wearing a strong pain patch now for several months and I haven’t heard him complain of it since then .
My mum has pain down one side and particularly in her neck . She takes ibuprofen but also BIO FREEZE seems to really help her . It doesn’t interfere with any medicine that she takes . You can get it in gel form and also roll on ... it’s honestly been such a help as it’s instant relief.
Please let us know how you are doing and take care .
I had neck pain early on - dystonia. It's manageable now with prescribed medication and over the counter -Tylenol, even a topical cream like Voltaren Heat and massage help too, you'll need to see what works for you.
