Sandy has complained of joint pain off and on. He thinks he's coming down with something but so far it hasn't developed into a cold/virus. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have read that it can be a symptom.
Joint pain?: Sandy has complained of joint... - PSP Association
Joint pain?
Is the area associated with any general stiffness or ridgity? It could be a symptom or maybe just plain old arthritis.
Ron
Steve always used to say his joints hurt, I think it is just yet another symptom of this hideous condition.
It's a long and arduous journey cruel to all - the patient and the caregivers! Luckily my wife didn't have any such thing as pain per se. But her journey was confined to the wheelchair, peg feeding etc. Through God's grace she was called and relieved from this rigorous life imprisonment!
You could try an Osteopath or massage, just to get his body moving. Might improve this pain. Even if it doesn't, he will enjoy the sensation.
Lots of love

I don't think there isn't a joint in my entire body that doesn't scream at me. I'm wrapped up in a heating pad as I type this.

Is he on a statin?
No. Not on statins. I've since heard from several others that many people with these diseases have joint pain. No end to the symptoms that can occur.
Thank you for replying.
I've got the same question as dadshelper (thanks for asking it Ron). I'm uncertain as I have multiple issues which include Ankylosing Spondylitis (a specific form of inflammatory arthritis) and Arthritis, among others, that I have had longer than PSP. Either of these cause joint pain. How would I know if my joints ached from either of those or PSP?
I do also feel pain with the rigidity but it is pretty mild and I have lived with more intense pain from other ailments longer, that when they flare-up make me forget I even have pain from the rigidity.
Because i've had near constant, varying degrees and locations of pain since my mid 20's, I think of it like a cuckoo clock. It's normally in the background of my life and sits unnoticed until it is brought to my mind, like with this question. I normally don't think about it, talk about it or even treat for pain unless it (like a cuckoo clock) becomes attention getting intense.
