My mum has now told me she has been getting pain in her calf and has done for a few weeks now, mainly when walking but also when in bed, sleep getting disrupted by the pain, has anyone else suffered with this, I will be speaking to her career this avo as I think it should be checked for possible dvt, tho I think it will be the psp...better to check tho

When my Brian was walking he would often get very stiff legged and when I asked him about it he said his muscles hurt. He still gets a cramp like sensation in his calf and upper arm. Forgot to say these are the muscles that have shortend and gone stiff due to the psp. If it is on her stiff side perhaps a massage or even a pain killer might help. Hope this helps. Janexx

Is the calf swollen and feeling hot?

My husband had a DVT in his calf, before he was diagnosed....this was the start of him becoming ill. A scan on his calf proved the DVT.the first doctor he saw told him to go home and elevate his leg which was definitely the wrong thing to do!....make sure they don't just fob you off.

It is always best to check out any pain or swelling in the calf for DVT....hope it isn't though.....take care

Mum has been checked by her doctor this morning, after picking her up of the floor and bandaging her hand which she hurt in the fall, her pain is due to a lower back problem that is ongoing, so as well as psp she has this too,, I knew she had a trapped nerve r last year and had surgery on this, but I did not know it would be an ongoing problem,, she is getting very down and crying an awful lot, she is going to be reassessed for 1 week disregards but I think it will be a no again, what has she got to do to get some help,
