I've been asking so many questions lately. So thankful for this community. Latest one: Sandy's left hand (the one that doesn't work so it doesn't get used) is swollen and has been for a week or so. He had a lot of swelling in his legs and feet and was put on a dieuretic and it took care of that problem but I don't know what the swelling in the hand indicates. Fortunately, I realized his wedding ring was getting very tight and we got that off tonight with some difficulty.
Input welcomed!

Keep it elevated if possible. Since he’s already on a diuretic not sure what else to do. Ask your doctor if it could be increased of give him something else. Larry had a swollen foot until I started to give him a stool softener once a day. That sucked fluid out of his body.
Never heard of a hand swelling. Is it possible he has been bitten by some sort of insect? I agree about keeping it elevated and I would try an ice pack for short periods every couple hours.
My husbands left arm and hand are swollen and ridged and now his right hand is hard for him to move and swollen. Therapy has now put sleeves with fingers on both arms and massage them both to help with circulation. It just keeps progressing. He can not feed himself now. Prayers for your journey.
Oh dear. This is probably what's happening. More rigidity and swelling. Probably not surprising since he's not moving much. We should probably start up PT and OT again soon. I've enjoyed the break with them not being here.
The more questions the better. We learn from others. My husband’s hands and feet are ice cold and the rest of his body is warm. We aren’t experiencing swelling, but the coldness is bothersome. Probably lack of circulation too. Sorry I don’t have any answers but I do appreciate the question and the replies.
