Sore eyes

Jim has been in hospital for 6 weeks now. He is late stage and in need of nursing care and fortunately that has been accepted and he has been fast tracked for a nursing bed. It has been an interesting journey because of the rareness of the condition and the assumptions that we’ve at times had to raise our voices to combat. We have been blessed with a doctor who understood and has stood his corner - refusing to move him unnecessarily because of the confusion that would cause him.

Our visit today was about trifle, pork pies and sore eyes. The latter is causing him discomfort and is hard to watch. As fellow watchers you know how that feels. Keep on keeping on and making the most of time together.

You might try an eye ointment and hot compresses on his eyes for some relief.
