Hello all, I have just spent the last few weeks in Nepal and have trekked to Everest Base Camp in memory of my wonderful husband Steve. I was with a lovely group of people who were all really supportive, there were a few years along the way but I did it and I know Steve would be so proud of me and I am sad that he won’t be there to meet me at the airport when I get home tomorrow but I did write a diary to him everyday on the trek. It was his birthday while we were away and I took a miniature bottle of his favourite tipple and we all had a drop and toasted him in Tengboche on our way up, it was a very spiritual place and beautiful so all very appropriate. I am attaching a photo of my friend Jane and I at Base Camp xx

Congratulations to you. I know what a slog that trek is!!!
Tengboche is beautiful, I can't think of a better place to drink a toast to your Steve. Mine would have loved the thought of that as well.
Well done again.
Lots of love

Congratulations, Sarah. I know how much this meant to you. It is so important to find something to focus on while you try to heal.
Best wishes for you.
Well done. You must be feeling pleased with yourself for not just sitting back xx
What an amazing tribute to you and your husband! I’m hoping he is at the airport with as your angel 😇
Inspiring is what you are, he would be proud of you and your achievement. Doing something that is tangible in his memory will help with your grieving process and I'm sure you felt very close to him up there having a toast in his honour. Well done.
Love Kate xx
