This is an update of my mother in law who's now at the hospital, because her stomach swells

The reason her stomach swelled is because her intestines no longer functions, their is a bowel blockage that's why she can't deficate. The findings shows that her intestine has a whole and bacteria has spread all over her stomach that made it infected and become swelled.

She needs to be operated right away, says the doctor, but is too weak, her potassium level dropped to the lowest, her kidney functions failed.

We spent a day to decide wether she be operated or just let her be until her body gives up, because the chances are 50/50, she might not survived and may give up in the middle of operation. But we remember her saying the past few weeks that SHE is already tired of her sickness, and we respected that, it's painful for us to her that way, but we can't be selfish, because she suffered more than us.

She is now in her 3rd night at the hospital. She is on pain reliever and antibiotics, and doctor said for now, she is stable. She no longer had anything oral like food or water or medicine, only supplement and meds through an IV.

Your poor dear mother in law she has been through a horrible time . I can only imagine how hard it was to make the decision to let her be but I think by the sounds of it, it would be wrong to allow any more suffering.

I hope she finds peace and wish you and your family strength as you go through this very difficult and sad time

Love to you all you are in my thoughts

It must have been difficult for you to put this experience into words but at the same time therapeutic. I appreciate the update and of course I wish the news were better. You are giving your mother-in-law a gift by listening to her and supporting her. Rarely am I speechless but this is one of those times where I just want to send hugs and hope for a peaceful parting.

I had to make the basic same decision with dad when his had a 100% bowel blockage. I decided for the surgery since it was not CBD related, his bowel became kinked in a pocket caused by a hernia. I opt'ed for surgery while the same 50/50 chance. Either way I felt I had done all I could. If it had been more related to CBD I would have had a much harder decision since he had stated no medical intervention or life support.

May she be kept comfortable until she has decided if she truly has had enough of this dreadful disease. My heart hurts for you and your family.

What a tough time for you all. I hope if I am ever faced with a similar situation I have the strength you have shown.

Wishing you all peace and strength.

Even when we know it's their wish and that this will be your final act of love for them, those decisions are the most difficult any of us will ever have to make as many on here, including me, will know. Your MIL will be kept pain free; surround her with love and be at peace yourselves knowing that you have fulfilled her wishes. HilsandR. x

Thank you to my wife ErzaTitania for sharing mom's update here in this blog. As I for now I don't have the courage to share my mom's situation. It's very hard for the past few days and it will be for the coming days ahead. But all we can do is to pray for mom that God' grace & mercy will be given upon her.

I ask for prayers to you all for Mom.

Thank You.
