Hi all, I remember reading a few times where patients have a temperature but it does need t read as such.
Mum currently in hospital and she is reporting she is cold however her temperature is normal. Any ideas ?

Hi Sarah
This is what my wife has. I've seen it reported here by others. There may be two things going on.
First even though the core temp. is OK peripheries like hands and feet can get cold because of poor blood circulation.
At the same time the brain senses that the body is cold when it's not. Just another PSP brain thing I think. We had the heating turned up quite a bit.
I hope this helps.
Larry is mostly cold no matter what the temperature of the air is. Inactivity is the main cause for him.
Good Morning Sarah - My mom would go from hot to cold . . . but as time passed it seemed she was just cold.
Like Kevin and Jeff - I think it is poor blood circulation and inactivity. Since it is impossible to know what someone else is feeling - follow your gut as to how many blankets your mom needs.
Maybe find something warm for her to hold in her hands. I used to buy a product to warm my hands years ago when my boys played outdoor sports = but I can not remember the name of if. I think hunters also use this product. If I remember the name or find it at a store I will post again.
Sending Hugs and Best Wishes for you and your mom. Granni B
Dad used to be warm, not feverish just warm, all the time. Now he is constantly cold and has a light throw blanket on him. I've asked the staff to move him to other side of room, once the rehab patient moves out, to be farther from the A/C vent. I agree with the others, it's just another symptom of the disease.

Hi Sarah I have CBD I feel the cold for the past week I have been sleeping with the electric blanket on low. I asked my husband if we can have a thicker duvet on! He looked a little surprise but he will be doing that when he in from work tonight

My Mum is ok/cool until late afternoon when she "heats up". Off comes the knee rug, off comes the cardie, off come the socks, windows are opened to let in air what ever the weather. I have a thermometer in her sitting room to make sure we don't cool the room down too much & she ends up suffering from hypothermia !!
Such an odd condition where so many challenges are thrown at us all.
