I find it difficult to read the heartbreaking posts that I get from my daily digest. I love the occasional ‘normal life’ posts (like the humerous Georgepa posts). So here is mine. My granddaughter and I had an outing this week going to see the butterflies and eat hot dogs. A beautiful day....
Blessings,
Bobby

Bobby, such a lovely photo - your granddaughter is gorgeous. Our little granddaughter is only 17 months old and a little pickle but a wonderful diversion from the everyday challenges. She is currently going through the 'shoes' stage and will put anything on her feet as long as they are the size of boats and someone is willing to steady her so that she can walk in them. Men's shoes are not out of the question but dragging her feet along in a pair of flip-flops are her current favourite. During these performance she brings tears to my eyes from laughter. I often remind myself that through all this heartache there is joy to be had, it's often just waiting in the wings for us to embrace. HilsandR
Lovely photo Bobby. I totally agree with you, we all need these tiny distractions. It's wonderful that everyone appreciates this on our site. Having just spent precious time with my beautiful new grandson, I know how you feel.
Lovely photo, thank you for sharing, yes it is a lovely distraction from the daily grinds most of us as carers face or faced. Even though Leon ( Hubby) passed to a better world 8 weeks ago, I still follow this site. It was, still is, so so good therapy for me. Hugs and thanks again, just gorgeous. Marg Howlong. N.S.W. Oh Bobby, I didn't know. Something we have in common. Leon passed on the 16.06.2018 as far as I can ascertain he had P.S.P for 8 years plus. As with a number of others he was wrongly diagnosed with Parkinsonism, I read an article in a newspaper about sisters trying to raise awareness of P.S.P and their Dad, had the LOOK that Leon had, so I googled and investigated more myself. He ticked more of the boxes than he did with Parkinsons. The Neurologist was surprised at my investigations but agreed that was what it was, which was 3 years after original diagnosis. We were/are Grey Nomads and had sold everything and hit the road, when I noticed the 1st year that things were not quite right. Leon had a great (well maybe not quite great) 7 years on the road travelling this great country of Australia, before I had to stay put House/pet sitting in Howlong N.S.W. where the people have became more family to me now. Am still travelling and house/pet sitting as I love the lifestyle of meeting people and animals alike whilst getting to see more of this wonderful country. Am sure you will enjoy your time with grandies and family at Xmas, Hugs Marg xxoo
My beloved also passed on 16 June. She was only 58 She also had a misdiagnosis story similar to most others on this site. She was misdiagnosed with Early Onsite Alzheimer’s. Last year our neurologist referred us to a specialist, because the symptoms and rate of decline were not consistent with Alzheimer’s. The specialist who does mostly research was able to diagnose appropriately with CBD. Looking back I remember early symptoms 7 to 8 years ago.
Hi Bobby and thank you for sharing. Little ones give great hugs . . . My little ones are in their in their twenties and seems only yesterday they were little like yours. Enjoy every minute of Grandparenthood for it is GRAND. Hugs to you and your little one - Granni B
It's truly amazing how our grandchildren can make your worse day into the best day
