I thought I would share a small joy and our tranquillity.
Since Liz went into care her cat developed new habits. One is liking to sleep on the desk next to me. Every now and then she gets up and walks across the keyboard has a couple of strokes and then goes back to sleep. If I am reading a book she makes sure to sit on it until she has had the 'required attention'. She's a little darling.

She is more than likely feel how sad you are feeling, and she more than likely misses Liz, could you take her in to see Liz when you visit. Animals are strange things xxxxx
Sadly I can't take her to se Liz. She is a rescue cat and she goes crazy if we try to put her in a basket or pick her up. I've had many lacerations.
She used to sleep on Lizzie's bed. And, a few times I saw her quietly walk up the bed to stare at he whilst she slept. She was very motherly toward Liz and often I would find her sleeping on to op of Liz in the morning, or curled up next to her on the pillow. They were very close.
Then in the last weeks that Liz was here she simply started to ignore Liz.When Liz visits she says hello with a rub and then goes off to sleep.
I think animals now when someone is sick, our dog is always near George, when George goes to the centre, he sits near the door, and runs down the drive barking at the people on the bus, he won’t let them come up the drive. Funny creatures animals are. Yvonne xxxx
Poor cat! She is missing Liz. However you said she was ignoring Liz before she went into the Nursing Home so she probably knows she is going to die so she has backed away from her. Now she sits near you probably needing affection.
I see you had snow too! Same here, and I am not looking forward to tomorrow morning as I have to go out, and the pavements will be so dangerous. I hate the way pedestrians are ignored. Did you know in the 1800's people had to clear snow from outside their homes and were fined if they didn't? I wish people would do it now. That was one of the odd things I noticed when I came to live here! Why do people not make their bit of pavement safe?
I think we need to here or could get a ticket!?!? Could be wrong😬 Jack was the neighborhood snowblower guy, especially the seniors. The last couple of years he was out there, he need to be rescued by someone driving by twice! He would be plopped on the sidewalk and the snowblower up on the lawn area😀 He's lucky he never injured himself or ran someone else over!!!!! I have a movie of him snowblowing our lawn with the machine just gone from under him and he hanging on for dear life trying not to lose it and not thinking fast enough to let go~ After that I went with him!!!
I know I shouldn't, but I had quite a smile at his big heart and antics. Liz would often say that a man left unsupervised by a woman is a risk waiting to go off.
Hi Kevin, I have two cockatoos and the little hen knows something is wrong. When we let her out she’s like a piece of Velcro, preening me and sits on my shoulder until she tells me she wants to go home for the toilet!
Les's cat took over his side of the bed when he went into a nursing home. I honestly think cats have the power of tuning into our pain. While I stayed with Les in the hospital for his last 4 days Echo pined and so did our daughters cat. I believe they are saying "if you need me I am here with lots of affection to share". They never left my side for 2 days and I loved their company when they snuggled up witb me in bed.
Yes, our little 'scroggy moggie' is a bit of a runt and a rescue cat. She would not come near me for her first year and then only for food. She
had quite a vocabulary though. I would quietly say words like sweetheart and princess when she had her back to me and when I got one of the words she knew her head would swivel round and she would stare at me.
Yes, going to sleep with a cat snuggled up is a delight.
Love and hugs

I had a cat that was more like a dog. He was devoted to me. He died about 30 years ago. About a month after he died as I was drifting off to sleep one night I felt him get on my bed. I thought Pook is getting on the bed then remembered he was dead. I woke up fast. I really felt the compression of the mattress as he got on the bed.
I'm sure animals have sixth sense and know when you need their company. She is probably missing Liz too. I keep contemplating getting a little dog but then I put on my sensible hat and know it's not a great time to that. Hope you are looking after yourself Kevin.
